Shopping for vaping is an exciting yet confusing experience for most people who’re absolute beginners to vaping. You are faced with a lot of options with respect to your e-liquids and vape devices, and you have little to no knowledge about how everything works. But nevertheless, it's a start of a new journey for everyone and a vape shop gives you a lot of time and knowledge to make your decisions about your first e-liquid and hardware. Know Thy Taste And Needs:
Even when you don’t know the mechanism and complexities of vape gear (which are not that complex) you must know a few basic things to go about vape shopping. To begin with, you must know how much nicotine you need in your e-liquid. A good rule of thumb is to trace back your previous nicotine consumption with respect to cigarettes. Choosing a flavour can be daunting but you must approach vaping as a series of trial and error. You can pick a vape store that lets you either vape before making a purchase for the flavour, or at least have you taste the drop of e-liquid you’re interested in purchasing. You can get an idea of the flavour quite easily if you taste a drop of e-liquid, without getting muddled up with the flavour description on the pack. Berry, strawberry with passion fruit, and a hint of icy cool menthol sounds appealing but doesn't always tell you whether or not you’d actually come to like the flavour in a vape. Hence, don’t shy away from tasting the flavour beforehand. You can also get a fee sample size e-liquids for tasting purposes before you get an actual bottle of the flavour you find interesting.
Ask Questions And Do Your Inquiry:
Asking questions is the first step that will you become familiar with your vape ownership. You can discuss matters dealing with batteries, coils, cleaning, common issues, leaking, etc. Learn everything you might not already know about vaping. Learn about disposables, cartridges, mods, juices, additives(like menthol), brands, batteries, coils, salts vs freebase etc. Ask them to help you understand the differences and the pros and cons of using some things over other things. You could always ask about personal experiences if the vape store owner/keeper seems friendly enough. They have vast experience handling vape devices and e-liquids and their own thoughts on things can be extremely valuable for you. You can ask them questions like, what do they think of their mod/disposable/e-liquids/whatever. You can also ask whether or not they have regulars who always get the same thing, and ask them why so! Just ask ask ask, and you can be honest that you're new to everything. Some people just love to throw their opinions and experiences out there, you'll definitely get some info from some people to utilize when buying your vape gear and e-liquids
A Few More Tips To Get You Going:
- When giving descriptors on juice, “good” and “awesome” are not good descriptions you can ask questions about the e-liquid. Is the cooling effect strong, medium, or more like a minty touch? Is the strawberry taste more dominant in a particular blend? Is the mango more like candy or a fresh fruit mango?
- As convenient as it may be at the time. Never ask the vape store employees/owners to change the coil for you. You don't know the last time they washed their hands, and they're touching something you're inhaling. If you don't know how to do it yourself. Ask them if you can change it there and have them walk you through it.
- When you fill the flavour for the first time in
the coil, just let it rest for 10 minutes to let the coil soak before fixing it
in the device and vaping. This lets the coil soak in the flavour. If you take a
drag immediately after filling the e-liquid before the coil has soaked the
juice, it would burn the still-dry cotton. This is only required the first time
for every new coil/pod
